The Beginning...

There’s a difference between being alive and feeling alive.  Are you alive? Are you existing in your day to day existence on a routine and on automatic?  Do you walk the same streets no matter what you feel like seeing as your scenic desire?  Do you associate with the same individuals everyday talking about the same old nonsense you could care less about?  It doesn’t have to be every night, but do you at times with you could secretly change your life and stand in someone else’s shoes? Do you want to take 5 extra minutes walking the “long way” to get to work because it’s a beautiful little nestled cobblestone Boston back street instead of the busy Massachusetts Avenue?  Do you wish you had one day where you could just do whatever you felt like it as the minutes came to you? Where you could plan your day based on what you feel like venturing out and doing and not having to worry about being held down or judged?  Do you sometimes think about meeting new people and having fresh, new conversations with new faces?  If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, congratulations- you’re human.  By being human I mean that you are distracted by each day.  You can get easily caught up in things that proceed to consume our thoughts or our time.  I know it’s hard to do this with the responsibilities of life, but try to find a calendar or planner and look at the current month or the next month in line; no further.  Pick a date, at least one, and write next to the day “My day.”  That is your designated day to live your day exactly how you want it.  No distractions.  No obligations.  Just to involve who you want, what you want, where you want.  Be realistic though.  Don’t think of an extravagant plan that is unobtainable.  Think small first and you’ll be surprised how much you love all those small things.  They will turn into one big ball of happy at the end of the day.  And pretty soon you’ll be loving your life, you’ll be grateful, and you’ll feel alive.

And that’s the reason why this site is up and running today… Because there’s no such thing as “perfect timing,” so I’m making it “my time.”  I hope you enjoy the site and like what you hear, and I can’t wait to share my musical journey with you all!

Today I can't stop listening to Trampled by Turtles and the Dixie Chicks. I just keep rotating them and rotating them.  They both just amaze me. I have been super busy lately.  I have a show coming up with my Motown Ensemble here at Berklee on Friday.  We have rehearsals this week and I'm hoping it will go smoothly! There are 13 vocalist, 2 guitarists, piano, drums, organ, and bass..Epic.  Also, I've been recording background vocals for an awesome songwriter/performer, Zach Lockwood. His band, Zach Lockwood and the Roseliners, have asked me to do a few gigs with them, and I'm so honored and excited to be a part of their musical magiccc! ALSO, on the topic of updates, I was asked by musical producer legend, Don Was, to partake in a show at Berklee on November 19th.  Five Berklee vocalists will be performing hits that Don himself either produced or had a direct hand in creating as hits (most notably Don Was has produced Bonnie Raitt, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Bob Dylan, LeAnn Rimes, Garth Brooks, etc). So I am very excited for that as well! Hopefully this is just the start of the fire :)

Hope everyone is doing great. All of my love! xoxo

I woke up this morning at 6:45am, finished packing, took my 800-lb suitcase (obviously not 800-lbs, but it was SO heavy! I'm a horrible packer) on the Boston MBTA, and got to the bus terminal earlier than I needed to, had a lay-over with buses, and then had a 1 hour and 15 minute drive home from the station to my house....But now, right now, I am nuzzled up on my couch at home watching a holiday movie and wearing sweatpants, and family dinner is in about an hour.  I am home for the holidays. And I am so blessed to say that.  I am so happy to be home, and I hope you all are somewhere cozy and wonderful.  I hope you're happy and joyful this holiday season.  And I hope everyone gets the opportunity to let everyone and everything you love know how much you care for them.  The holidays are a magical time of year, and I send all my love to all of you and yours!  Happpy Holidays!!

All of my love, xoxo
